In 1983, Greg Malkin founded Technical Software, Inc and served as its president until selling the business to a public company, Rand Worldwide, in 2000. Greg was an Inc. Magazine Entrepreneur of the year Finalist in 1994 and received the Corporate Cleveland Magazine Leadership Award in 2000. For seven years in the 1990's, Technology Software, Inc. was a Weatherhead School of Management Top 100 Cleveland Growth Company. In 2005, Greg founded and has since led the Young Entrepreneur Institute (YEI) at University School, a private high school in Hunting Valley. The Young Entrepreneur Institute believes that every child should understand and experience entrepreneurship. He retired from YEI in 2021.Greg has won numerous awards for his work with entrepreneurship education including the 2010 Teacher of the Year by the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship; 2010 Outstanding Entrepreneurship Educator by the Consortium for Entrepreneurship Education; the 2011 Leavey Award for Excellence in Private Enterprise Education by the Freedoms Foundation; 2016 National Federation of Small Business (NFIB) Entrepreneur Educator of the Year; 2016 Ernst & Young Regional Non-Profit Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist.In 2020, Greg founded Model Landmarks LLC.
