Island Generation is located on the eastern side of Vancouver Island in Campbell River, BC, approximately 200 km northwest of Vancouver. The facility operates an Alstom GT24B gas turbine and an Alstom steam turbine with total capacity of 275 MW. It commenced commercial operations in 2002.In 2017 capital power purchased the following equipment,The 150 Mile House Energy Recovery Generation (“ERG”) facility is located at SpectraEnergy’s 150 Mile House Compressor Station #6A, just north of 150 Mile House, BC. Theproject is situated within the compressor station perimeters on private land owned by Spectra.The facility operates using waste heat generated with gas-fired turbines used to drive the pipelinecompressors. Historically, this heat was exhausted straight to the atmosphere. Installation ofdiverters on the existing exhaust stack and heat exchangers allowed the heat to be transferred to athermal oil loop, which is then used to drive turbines and generators using an Organic RankineCycle (“ORC”).The ORC follows the same process of a typical thermal steam plant of preheating, vaporizing,expanding, condensing and pumping a circulating fluid in a closed loop. However, ORC cyclescan make use of lower temperature waste heat to generate electricity by using an organichydrocarbon instead of water as the working fluid.These facilities are managed by myself and operated by Enbridge.

Alberta Pacific was a green field kraft pulpmill constructed in northern Alberta, I was hired during the construction of facility where i was involved in the construction of the power island and commisssioning of all major components of the larest kraft mill build in North America (1.4 billion). The facility also required commissioning of simulators used for training in power island operations.I Held various positions during my time with Alberta Pacific Forest Industries Inc.-Chief Engineer and Business Unit leader (2000-2008)-Chemical Recovery & Utilities Area Specialist (1998 - 2000)-Chemical Recovery & Utilities Day Technician (Oct 1997 -1998)-Chemical Recovery & Utilities Team Facilitiator / Shift Engineer (1992-1997)

Began my career in steam plant operations as a 4th Class Power Engineer, holding positions of progressive responsibility, Postion involved operating large-scale, high pressure boilers and turbines as well as, water and waste treatment plant, lime kiln and material handling systems. Led several boiler retrofits and upgrades in Proctor and Gamble US and Canadian operating facilities.
