I've published more than two dozen essays and short stories in literary magazines, one of which was selected by author Leslie Jamison for Best American Essays 2017. I've also written for SIERRA, the Sierra Club's national magazine. In addition to creative work, I interview authors for online publications, write blog posts for websites and help writers develop book proposals and promotional materials. In the spring of 2018, I was promoted to a full-time editorial position, a role that had me writing and managing native ads in WordPress, posting and boosting content on a private Facebook page, and continuing to write job blog posts, job descriptions, listicles, and fresh content. While a fellow at the Michener Center for Writers, I led a team of volunteer readers and worked with the other editor to put together the University of Texas at Austin's prestigious literary journal, Bat City Review. My responsibilities included proofreading and copyediting essays for publication, soliciting authors and organizing and hosting a monthly reading series.

I reported and wrote features and news stories for one of the oldest biweekly newspapers in the country. My responsibilities included managing a community calendar, proofreading and editing articles by local contributors, taking photos and covering the Sundance Film Festival.

As a paid intern, I reported stories and produced news packages for Utah's NPR affiliate and assistant-produced the morning program.
