With an educational background in electrical engineering and an MBA, I have spent most of my career somewhere between engineering and marketing. I started my career in engineering within the semiconductor industry. I soon realized that I very much enjoyed the customer facing side of the business while remaining technical, which led to roles as a product specialist and then product line manager of various technical products. These positions were in the semiconductor industry, the high voltage switchgear industry and the safety industry. As my career advanced, I was drawn towards both business and technology strategy development. As a global sensor technology program manager, I led both global marketing and engineering groups in the creation and execution of a sensor technology strategy which included both organic new product development and business development with external partners. From this position I transitioned into the role of Global Product Business Director, first for our portable gas detection instrument business and then covering all of MSA’s detection products (portable instruments as well as fixed gas & Flame detection). In this role, I am responsible for leading a global team of product managers in the development and execution of the global product strategy, the technology strategy, the associated new product development portfolio, and development of external partners.
