I helped maintain and develop new features for in house software used by GC Services and State of Michigan employees. Development process is an Agile development methodology, with software going through multiple stages prior to release. Final software release is controlled by Quality Assurance department with developers present to assist with any unforeseen issues. The user interface is developed with PowerBuilder and the database utilizes Oracle.Created and maintaining an IVR interface system using a base toolkit created by Five9 software. Interface uses multiple technologies including JavaScript, C#, and JAVA. The presentation layer is hosted in a browser that communicates through restful web services.I was hired into this position with no knowledge of Powerbuilder, using my experience as a developer I was able to learn PowerBuilder and was able to be a productive member of the team within 30 days.

Served as the Application Development Manager with 9 direct reports, 7 developers and 2 database administrators. I work directly with the State of Michigan to provide project status and to determine upcoming priorities. I interact with State and end users to help develop new processes to improve the user experience and performance.I maintained a restful API, one that I created during the role of Programmer Analyst to bridge communication issues between multiple systems and distribute offline processes. This has allowed communication between external systems and the in-house software automating multiple manual processes, this has allowed employees to focus on high priority tasks. The current code base is over 12,000 lines. The average users accessing the API per hour is 350 with an average of 18.3 million transactions per hour. This continues to expand as new processes are required by State and end users.

Leveraged multiple technologies in the design and development of the OnBase suite of software modules that are related to document scanning/imaging and their user interfaces. This improved the user experience and increased the performance. Installed and configured OnBase to replace internally used imaging/document management software that brought the company to one unified platform. Created stored procedures, rules, tables and databases that increased accessibility and performance. Converted data from proprietary formats to a defined specification giving the users access to the data from a single system. Managed day to day operations of the Michigan facility allowing for the employees to continue performing theirs duties. Supported PCs and document scanners to allow operational staff to get customers work completed and returned on time. Managed team of developers and conversion technicians guiding them when they had questions.

Built out imaging and document management software suite incorporating new technologies following the object oriented programming model allowing for greater reusability and performance. Created a multi tier application with workflow components that allowed users and administrators to configure, interact, and automate the system to meet their business needs. Performed presales duties, created robust presentations and traveled to perspective clients sites to assist sales representatives. Presented a weekly Webinar that demonstrated the workflow and document management software we created. Provided customer support on the phone and on site. Managed a team of developers in the build out of a document management, workflow application suite, and conversion services. Designed, coded, and tested software for data conversion and integration utilizing SSIS and SSRS to help customers convert from their host system(s) to a desired format specified by the customer. As I added new features to the software suite I worked directly with our Quality Assurance department to ensure the finished product functioned to the specifications.
