Design and specification of Polymer based Filtration Solutions (Textiles) to the Processing Industry in QLD, SA and Tasmania. Industries included aluminium, cement, ash-vault, power generation, zinc (inc. industrial galvanises), lead (inc. acid-battery manufacture), timber,sugar, grain, pharmaceuticals and coal. A highly technical role that included sales,and technical support of product and onsite labour. Achieved $3.8 million AUS in sales before moving back to electronic security.

Projects completed:•Rio Tinto Yarwun design and supply of Barraquad Transportation Doors and Electrical safety doors plus specialised aeration tanks.•Anglo Coal Dawson Wash-plant designed and had installed over 50 complex pump and exciter guards. Also developed an Air Compressor Filter Housing to limit corrosion. Also developed Terminal covers for the latest electric trucks.•Developed and installed DIACON conveyor guarding at NRG power station, Gladstone Port Corp tripper refurbs and Tasman Warajay hatches. “At the Gladstone Power Station, we recently engaged the services of Consolidated Plastics and Epoxy to assist us with the replacement of conveyor guarding at our coal handling facility. The professionalism of the team at Diacon has provided us with guarding which was able to be retrofitted to a 35 year facility. The resulting Diacon guarding not only complies with AS1755, but is lightweight (reducing manual handling risks) and corrosion free. I was responsible for the research and development of new products, for the Residential Window and Door Market Segments of the Building Industry. This included a revolutionary low cost, high strength plastic chain for a manual and electronic awning fixture market. Integral to success in this position was the ability to influence local suppliers, as well as international manufactures and internal cross-function teams in as many as three countries, to fulfil client specifications. Implementation was carried out firstly, in the form of a market testing Prototype, followed by the development of production, sales and installation documentation, supported by a ‘Bills of Material’ documentation (using an MRP System), whilst minimising inventory wherever possible. Overseeing numerous projects concurrently, it was essential to display excellent organisational and negotiation skills.

I successfully increased the industry profile and success of AutoDesk Revit in Oct 2003 to March 2004 and then on my 2nd appointment in 2006 - 2007 pushed CostX software in the national Building and Construction sectors. With a budget of $30K gross profit per month, which I often exceeded, my position required focus on cold calling, servicing/growing repeat and referral business. Furthermore I had to organise technical sales presentations and conferences to ensure future business growth.

In this role I researched, designed and developed new products for the Park Cabin (Auscape), Residential, Office(Kwikform) and Education sectors of the Modular Building Industry. I was required to liase with suppliers, manufacturers and sales departments on a national level, in order to ascertain the requirements of our target market. Following their design, products were market tested, before the production, sales and supply documentation, in the form of a Bill of Materials was produced, to aid in the final manufacture and launch of the product.

Point of Sale Designer. Involved Rotational Moulding, Vac forming, Injection Moulding and Acrylic Fabrication.Included the Schwepps point of sale fridge chute and main court drinks bin for the Australian Tennis Open.POS Award in 2002 for L’Oréal Point of Sale Hair Product Dispensor.

Developed the internationally successful VeriFone Omni 3700 series, Red Alert, Dolphin and other well know products for Energizer Asia Pacific.Involved in numerous projects including signage for Knox Grammar on the Pacific Hwy.

1st trained as a Sales Professional utilizing the IBM and 3M Sales Training Process. Developed the Ergonomic Accessories and Human Scale Hardware market in SE QLD having success with the Main Roads Dept and Disableties Services.Involved cold-calling, quoting and face to face demonstrations. This was my parents business which I'm proud to have worked for in varying roles as a child through to being a young adult.Trained to answer phones as a 8 year old when the business was 1st founded from home and sign/check incoming/outgoing stock.Pam and Jim started Trendsetter Media Supplies in 1977 and traded until 2004. They grew the business to National one ( x 40 employees, 3 offices, 15 cars/vans) in the 90's being major distributors of Hood Ergonomic Furniture, IBM, 3M, Hewitt Packard,Toshiba, Epson, Lexmark, Sony, Ollivetti office products and pioneered Re-Manufactured Toner and Ink Cartridge technology in Australia with EcoTrend. Trendsetter was recognized on 3 separate occasions in the 90's as being one of the top 400 businesses in Queensland. The company was sold in 2004 which included an office equipment maintenance arm called LaserMaint when mum and dad retired after 30 years of business to the Gold Coast.
