Greg Molaro possesses a BA (majoring in Economics and English) and an MBA (Majors in Marketing: Distribution Systems and Finance). He is also Altex’s inventor (US #8,393,359 and CDN Patents #2,643,893 and #2,829,003), a journeyman steamfitter, and a hands-on constructor.Greg worked with TransAlta Energy as a Large Power Plant Developer. After leaving TransAlta, he continued to work as a large power plant developer with EPCOR and AEP. He also held technical and business development positions with Alliance Pipeline. In this role he was highly influential in prime mover selection ($500 million in gas turbines and electric motors), the supply of electricity to the entire pipeline and the Aux Sable plant. In addition, he played a major role in the deployment of the co-generation plants on Alliance in Saskatchewan. Greg is a founder of Altex Energy. He has watched it transition from a highly entrepreneurial enterprise to a structured corporate organization. He built the first Altex gantry in his backyard. He filled the first tank cars at Lloydminster and again in Lashburn and many, many more thereafter. He continues to effectively manage and lead the company’s operating teams in all the terminals and actively assists with the ongoing development of the company.
