Dawson Creek OSB mill has finished its transition to a siding plant in 2019. I joined them at the start of 2019 after career in the cement industry ending as maintenance planner with Lafarge Canada, Bath Ontario. LP Dawson Creek was not using their CMMS system, EAM, to their advantage when I joined them. In my time the assets have been properly aligned with a full reorganization, tablet use has been introduced with active checklists being continually incorporated in our PM schedule. We are incorporating trade utilization improvements. It is still an ongoing process to use EAM for improvements in our department but it is part of the continuous improvement that is a foundation of maintenance. Safety is always a priority at LP and bringing in a disciplined approach to how work is accomplished in the work flow process complements a good safe work program. I don't buy the kneejerk reaction to line stops and the suggestion we don't have time to do it the correct way, got to get going. We always have time to do it correctly. If we are missing steps in the process to do it right, what other safety steps are we missing?
