I am an architect with a very broad range of skills and experience. I have been a qualified architect for over twenty years.My focus on the residential sector was crystalised during a decade of work leading the redevelopment of the Park Hill Estate in Sheffield. This ten-year journey encapsulated everything from exhibition at the Venice Biennale of Architecture, successful navigation through the ramifications of the global financial crisis and through to the project’s eventual shortlisting for the RIBA Stirling Prize. Park Hill was a progenitor for intelligent reuse and adaptation and became one of the first projects in the UK that was meaningfully assessed for the carbon impact of retaining the building’s original structure.I lead the Residential and Mixed-Use Sector at Hawkins\Brown where I focus on the creation of new homes within mixed use settings. With over two decades of experience across all scales and stages of design, I have worked extensively with Local Authorities, developers and housing providers to lead numerous complex and high-profile projects. Over the last two years I have supported the development of Hawkins\Brown's studio in Dublin, consolidating my professional links to Ireland.I demonstrate an ability to maintain clear strategic thinking in parallel with a keen attention to detail.I have acted as Expert Witness at Planning Appeals and as a Design Review Panel member. I have undertaken work into residential standards, most recently to inform the GLA’s emerging Large-scale Purpose-built Shared Living guidance.I truly believe in the value of architectural collaborations and have brought together many project teams that have pushed agendas for inclusion and diversification. I graduated from the University of Sheffield with Distinction and featured in Building Design’s Class of 2000.I am a passionate advocate for active travel and have cycled to work in London for over 20 years. I am an experienced racing cyclist and continue to compete at a high level on the track. I have taken part in numerous editions of the industry charity ride, Cycles To Cannes.
