I began my career as a construction laborer for Pete Dye, on two courses he designed in Austin, TX and Denver, CO.In 1984, I joined Rees Jones, Inc. (RJI), as a Design Associate. I am currently the firm's Sr. Vice President and Sr. Designer. My responsibities include domestic and international business development, contract negotiations, client interaction, all phases of project analysis, planning & design development, preparation of construction documents, cost estimating, construction inspection site visits and overall communication with all project consultants.While at RJI, I have Co-Designed three courses prepared to host four US Open Championships: Congressional CC - Blue Course (1997); Bethpage State Park - Black Course (2002 & 2009) & Torrey Pines South Course (2008).In addition, Bethpage Black will host the PGA Championship in 2019 & The Ryder Cup Matches in 2024.I also Co-Designed Ocean Forest GC, host of the 2001 Walker Cup.I Co-Designed the following courses, which to date, have hosted 40 PGA Tour events: Bethpage State Park - Black Course; Cog Hill #4 "Dubsdread"; East Lake GC; Golf Club of Houston - Tournament Course (formerly Redstone Golf Club) & Torrey Pines South Course.
