• Established organizational policy for information protection and data security. • Was responsible for the 14 Unit Security managers, ensuring that they were trained and able to comply with all security policies.• Managed computer/data security-Virus/Malicious Logic, emissions security-radio/telephone/PDA/Pager emissions, security awareness and education-educating the end-user, information security-password protection of information assets, and communications security-Cryptographic assets. • Managed the Base COMSEC and AFEKMS networks. • Planned, implemented and managed the Wing/Base CyberShield, which provided 24/7 protection, detection, and prevention of Malicious Logic threats from both external as well as internal threats, which resulted in no downtime from virus attacks in last 18 months. • Managed the WAN Firewall with 100% success rate of intruder denial, to include analyzing firewall logs, modifying/opening ports, building secure tunnels.• •Systems include IBM compatible desktops running WIN95, WIN NT4, WIN2K, WIN98, WIN ME, LINUX, SCO-UNIX, SUN SOLARIS, and MICROSOFT EXCHANGE.• Security software included: Norton Anti-Virus for Exchange, Norton Anti-Virus Gateway/Server, McAfee Webshield, and Norton Antivirus Client for All Desktops, Servers, and Laptops. • Was the first Air Guard Site to go back on-line after the Melissa Outbreak, provided the solutions and fixes to our Command Network Control Center, saving the Military hundreds of thousands of dollars in downtime.• Provided the 24/7 CyberShield Antivirus via the Symantec Norton Corporate Edition 7.X, Build 33, which ran on a dedicated Win NT Server. • Used it with the Symantec System Center (SSC) and Symantec Quarantine Central, as well as the Symantec Norton Antivirus Clients for all NT Servers, Desktops running Win95, 98, NT, 2000 and Dos 6.22. •
