In my 12 years of experience in IT, I’ve had some great opportunities to wear many hats and experience new things while in many different roles. I went from an intern on a Helpdesk working part-time, to being hired into an Applications Support position after graduation, and since have become a web developer, a software developer, a senior applications developer and most recently a software development supervisor for a newly expanded team of 6 Back-End developers!I’ve worked on business IQ technologies; with SSAS, SSIS, SSMS, SSRS; with multiple CMS, CRMs and ERPs, including Microsoft Dynamics, IFS, Kentico 7-11, CoreDNA, Salesforce and HubSpot which have utilized an array of backends such as SQL Server and Oracle databases; and most recently, heavily into the Azure ecosystem utilizing many of Microsoft’s offerings such as CosmosDB, Azure Functions, ServiceBus, KeyVault, APIM, Azure AI Search and many others.I’m very thankful and grateful to have been a key member of many system upgrades and a driving force for positive cultural shifts in my department. I have only worked at 1 employer in my professional career to date, and I think that is a testament to my loyalty, hard work, and dedication as an employee. I also feel I’m viewed as a valuable asset since I’ve consistently performed at a high level which has led to consistently being considered for new opportunities as Standard Process continues to grow. When working with others, I prioritize respect and enter every conversation assuming I have something to learn. I take my leadership position seriously and know the direct impact I have on everyone around me, especially the lives of those who report to me. I attempt to think outside the box and challenge the status quo. Just because something has always been one way, doesn’t mean that is the right way to do it. I prioritize everyone having a seat at the table and challenge my team to take responsibility, ownership and accountability for their work. I treat others with the utmost respect and a certain calmness, even while working in extremely stressful conditions to ensure my team can still perform at a high level, even when the pressure is on and deadlines are rapidly approaching. Outside of work, I’m a family man with a beautiful wife and 2 kids. So keeping a healthy work-life balance has been very important to me as I’m fairly busy outside work. Most recently I have been spending a lot of my free time creating and playing card/board games and it is my goal within the next few years to bring at least 1 new game to market.
