I grew up during the first dot.com boom, which had a tremendous impact on how I view the world. A front row seat to the proliferation of the internet drove my interest to begin programming as a kid. By seventeen, I was hacking industrial-grade logic controllers via MODBUS that my pops would bring home from his job. Boulder was a great place for my higher education and getting immersed in the startup community – I instantly fell in love. I cut my teeth and hustled my way through college with local programming gigs, obsessing about distributed computing, machine learning, cryptography, finance, the internet of things and entrepreneurship. My interest in blockchain piqued with the release of the Bitcoin whitepaper and the advent of cryptocurrency mining. My brother (the finance guy) and I began building GPU rigs for both Bitcoin and Ethereum, running them out of our folks' basement. The power of these technologies lies in their ability to truly democratize financial systems. My mission is to use them to free those that have ultimately been marginalized by the old way of doing things.From building trade routing technologies to decentralized messaging systems, it’s certainly been a wild ride. At this juncture, I only work on high level problems in distributed systems and financial engineering.
