Responsible for coordinating assigned construction project and related activities; providing information to others; and implementing and maintaining services within established budgets, programmes, guidelines and standards. Also tasked with driving a strategic approach to implementation of Estates strategy, capital projects and infrastructure development and strategy. I am to ensure the implementation of College policy for space utilisation and planning, and develop and implement Key Performance Indicators based on best international benchmarks for universities. I represent the Director (Estates and Facilities) in his absence for matters relevant to the Capital Projects area.

Nui Galway - Buildings Office

Reporting directly to the Director of Physical Resources / Director of Buildings & Estates as part of the Buildings Office team to manage the physical resources in NUI Galway and deliver capital projects and estate management services. I lead the Planning and Development Unit (currently 6 people) in support of the section and strategic plan goals. Other duties include composition of the Emergency Response Procedures, Master plan, Mobility Management/Travel Plan, and regularly temporarily fill the role as Deputy Director of Physical Resources / Deputy Director of Buildings in the University. I also assist the Director in change management projects and outsourcing of contracts, such as sports centre management, parking and clamping services, facilities management services (full suite) and laboratory management.

Part of the Director of Buildings' Office team in the delivery of support services in terms of estate management and new accommodation.

Reporting to the Technical Services Officer, I was part of the project team charged with delivering a large quantity of minor and medium sized works and my duties included activities from drafting, tendering to project management
