I have many years experience working with and directly for insurance carriers and the insureds while providing detailed reports, recommendations, and advisement to underwriting on large property accounts. Although I am well versed in auto, general liability, workers compensation and product liability, property line of business is my specialty. Working directly with clients on a recurring basis with on-site visits, coupled with analyzing proposals for additions, storage configurations, and sprinkler system adequacy, I can assist them and the carrier mitigate potential loss due to fire, smoke and water damage to buildings and contents. Developing a true probable maximum loss, (PML), scenario assists with decision making in addition to determining the hazards involved, including flammable liquids, compressed gases, as well as combustible materials, is key to ensuring hazards are controlled either by storage, automatic sprinkler systems, or both. I seek additional learning opportunities not only for continuing education credits required for recertifying my CFPS designation, but also for general industry knowledge. Routinely I reference NFPA 33, 30, 25, 20, and 13 standards, (to name a few), as well as FM data sheets to ensure I am providing the correct recommendations to the client and carrier. Business interruption, (BI), mitigation is achieved more readily when working closely with clients as a partner to research and develop alternate means and avenues for their operations.
