► What makes a great speaker?

Hearing stories from those that have passion and purpose in life can be really inspiring. I believe having passion and purpose alone is nothing if the speaker is not authentic. I believe that authenticity is the secret to living a rich and fulfilling life. Being yourself regardless of who you are with or where you are allows us the freedom to live without restriction. But how many people can say their life is rich and fulfilling in this way? I can! I have had a pretty decent innings in my life, where I have the opportunity now to share experiences from what I call the good old days. These were the days of big and bold characters where we did and said things as they came to us. Most know I played cricket for Australia, I spent some time with Channel Nine’s commentary team and Triple M’s Morning Breakfast Show. Some of you may remember me as Mahatmacote on the Footy Show. I have done many things in my life. Now I enjoy sharing these stories with audiences who appreciate the honest recounts and learnings of the cheers and boos that have shaped my life.

"They are slaves who fear to speak, For the fallen and the weak; they are slaves who dare not be, In the right with two or three". These two lines from Stanzas on Freedom by James Russell Lowell remind me of the need to speak the truth. Many of us have manufactured filters on our lives in order to show ourselves in a way we want others to see us. We spend extra energy thinking about how to position our experiences rather than experiencing them. There is a fine line between capturing a memory as a photograph and living in the moment.► What sort of events do I enjoy

I like people. I enjoy meeting them, hearing their stories and sharing my stories as a way to have an audience consider the possibilities for their life and best of all to question what could be holding them back. 

I love speaking and interacting with people that:
✔️Have an appreciation for the significance of the highs and lows in life
✔️Know that there are some positive lessons to be learned from living a full life
✔️Want to achieve something great in their lifeI especially enjoy talking to those up-and-coming athletes and corporates who are wanting to take on the world.
