My work experience began at University Meats many years ago where I processed meat and drove forklift. I later moved into the automotive field and spent 10+ years learning the ups and downs of family owned businesses. During my time in the automotive field I worked as a detailer, accessory installer, line mechanic, customer service rep and parts manager.Eventually I left automotive to work in the converting industry at FPNA and spent the next 10+ years working for an international business out of Italy. I experienced a great deal working my way up from a customer service rep to the manager of a multimillion dollar warehouse and purchasing department. Along the way I worked as a member of a software team, activity team, training team in addition to working with US Customs. The job provided me with a hands on learning experience regarding international business practices.However, my dream was to teach. During my time at FPNA I returned to college and earned my BA in Business Management while also earning a teaching certification. When the time was right I walked away from the private sector to teach. After a wonderful student teaching experience and a brief long term sub job I landed my dream job at the school I graduated from 20 years earlier. I currently teach Business / Marketing classes and hold teacher certifications in the following areas: Business, Alternative Education, Marketing and Vocational Education. As a lifelong learner and a teacher with real world experience, I understand the need for schools and communities to interact. My hopes are to make connections here on Linkedin that will allow current real world business owners, managers, workers and investors to share their experience and knowledge with students. I want to help create a connection between the needs of the students and the needs of the business community.
