As a senior control room technician and Deputy Shift Supervisor my main tasks include; ∙ Using the Honeywell TDC3000 DCS system for monitoring and optimising plant conditions dependent on feed availability in a safe and efficient manner on the KG ethylene plant.∙ Knowledge of steam compressors, refrigeration and hydrogenation systems as well as fractionation, dehydration and cooling water systems.∙ Communicating between the availability technicians, engineering and management staff… Show more As a senior control room technician and Deputy Shift Supervisor my main tasks include; ∙ Using the Honeywell TDC3000 DCS system for monitoring and optimising plant conditions dependent on feed availability in a safe and efficient manner on the KG ethylene plant.∙ Knowledge of steam compressors, refrigeration and hydrogenation systems as well as fractionation, dehydration and cooling water systems.∙ Communicating between the availability technicians, engineering and management staff to ensure that production and maintenance are carried out safely and on schedule. ∙ Carrying out the role of Deputy Shift Supervisor, taking responsibility for all aspects of shift operations from manning to production issues∙ Role as On Scene Commander on shift to co-ordinate and provide information and communication during any plant incident. ∙ Use of safe systems of work such as Risk assessments, use of COSHH, permit to work gas testing, use of temporary override risk assessments and key change registers. ∙ Problem solving and investigation to rectify plant upsets∙ Safe isolation of plant equipment for maintenance, using locking and tagging for both mechanical and positive isolations, completion of positive isolation forms as well as general isolations in the RAP program.∙ Carrying out of routine trip checks∙ Competent use of maximo work request system∙ Use of PI process trend system∙ Gas Testing for man entry and hot works∙ On shift training of other technicians in both optimisation and availability technician roles and reviewing of operating instructions and P&I drawings.∙ Use of the Traction incident reporting and action tracking system.∙ Carrying out of Permit to work audits, Process Safety Inspections and Housekeeping tours.∙ Level 4 control of work issuing authority which allows the issuing of high risk permits to work including confined space man entry.∙ Time spent as a dedicated control of work permit issuing authority on the KG ethylene plant.
