Gregory G. Schultz is a partner in the law firm of Taylor English Duma LLP. He is a member of the Firm’s Real Estate, Development Construction Group and the Lending, Workout & Foreclosure Group. His practice includes representing borrowers and lenders of all sizes in all areas of real estate, including in the acquisition, disposition, financing, development, leasing, subleasing and foreclosure of commercial, industrial and multi-family real estate.Mr. Schultz also has extensive experience in construction and real estate litigation, including with respect to title disputes, mechanic’s liens, construction defects, insurance coverage and special asset litigation. In particular, he has represented numerous policy holders and insurers in connection with insurance coverage disputes and contribution actions for defense and indemnity in numerous jurisdictions throughout the country including Alabama, Georgia, Iowa, North Carolina, Oregon, Texas and Pennsylvania. In connection with these proceedings, he has helped resolve construction claims in the tens of millions of dollars through contribution from insurance carriers and subcontractors. He has also successfully represented policyholders in first-party bad faith insurance claims. In addition, he has represented lenders, borrowers, title insurance companies and lienholders in real estate litigation matters, such as quiet title litigation, reformation, foreclosure and confirmation, lender liability litigation, lien priority disputes and similar matters.Prior to joining Taylor English, Mr. Schultz was a partner at Gambrell & Stolz, LLP (now Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC), where he practiced law from 1998 until 2005 and received his “AV” rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the highest possible rating.
