Content EditorFreelance Feb 2021 - Jul 2024I have created for dozens of content creators, totaling hundreds of thousands of followers on the platforms YouTube and TikTok. I have produced or edited over 1,000 longform videos for YouTube and well over 1,000 TikTok/YT/Instagram shorts. During this time I taught myself skills in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premier Pro, Adobe After Effects, Filmora, Resolve, Blender 3d (basic). The editing within this industry doesn’t pay particularly well, but because we were all doing what we loved, the competition was high. Programs such as Canva Pro and Capcut would not cut it for the type of projects I worked on. We incorporated 3d effects, sound design from scratch, elements from our own libraries and effects stacked on top of effects. Projects for clients could sometimes take multiple days to create, as they were not just videos or graphics, but works of art. These tough margins are what led me to step away from the editing side of things, and to move more into my role as a marketing strategist. The skills I gained through this role will be valuable moving forward as I will be able to communicate with my design department on a much deeper level. While many marketing directors stay out of editing entirely, my understanding of that side of the business allows me to communicate with and reach clear solutions/understandings with design departments at a much quicker rate.

Community Development ManagerFreelance Jan 2019 - Feb 2021During this time I helped develop and manage the communities of a variety of e-commerce brands. My primary role was to develop a following behind their products using platforms such as Discord and Twitter (X). I’ve worked with all sorts of clients, from gfx artists who were selling their work online, to Esports franchises who relied on their community to thrive.During the first “boom” of Esports which started around 2019, the environment of the gaming industry was known as “toxic”, and the most thriving esports teams and businesses were condoning this sort of atmosphere. I helped develop a blueprint for esports franchises rooted in Diversity and Inclusion. My community model was groundbreaking in that it went contrary to industry standard, and it is now followed by the top esports franchises.I saw myself as an industry leader within this space because my model was also one of the few that was profitable, and today the only businesses that still exist within this space follow a model of community management that is similar to the ones I helped pioneer early on. Studies show that as younger generations (Millennials, Gen Z, Gen Alpha) age, opportunity within this space will experience a second and more permanent “boom”, and if/when that happens I am not against returning to the space. I have been described as a “Discord Native” and an “OG” within the gaming/crypto/web3 industries.

Ticket Collector/GatekeeperImpact Baseball May 2012 - Aug 2013Hillsborough, North Carolina, United StatesThis role was my first bit of Customer Services experience, and WOW was it experience. You wouldn't believe how many parents try to sneak around, hop fences, make up stories of misplaced tickets or do anything they can just to skip paying to watch their kid play baseball!Anyways, this was a tough job, but I learned a lot about responsibility. There were opportunities to slack off however I always did my role, and somehow I think this was seen by the management at the top. I returned to work here every summer while in highschool, and by the time I graduated and was off to college, I was usually set up at the preferred locations (with shade, and AC).There were many tough lessons I learned while working here (such as don't park behind the dugouts or you may lose your whole weekend's salary to a broken windshield), however I am proud of the work I did with Impact Baseball. I was accountable and made sure everyone paid, while remaining respectful towards the parents.
