Rockhopper is a sister company of Capital Fortune. Due to a move from London to Bath this gave me the opportunity to continue with the company and work from home. It also enabled me to continue growing my managerial skills looking after the team, training, dealing with compliance, complaints, managing invoices as well as setting targets for myself and two others. I took a significant more hands on role with all aspects of the sales process from initial conversation through to administration and dealing with the case until completion. I was also tasked to help train new advisers with protection sales and lenders criteria.

I took up the role at Capital Fortune as it allowed me to go back to being an independent broker, and expand the clientele I could work with, which enabled me to work in niche areas such as expats, self-employed with challenging income streams, pensioners, unusual properties, trusts, portfolios and high net-worth. Capital Fortune has duel permissions as a brokerage and a barrister chambers. Due to this, we are also approached for court reports to help settle maintenance disputes. This company offered a very different sales process to anything I had experienced before, and I went through extensive sales training with a Sandler franchise that taught me to connect with clients so that I may communicate with them in their individual style. In spite of working in this new way, I had the highest first year’s bankings of any employee, which equated to £185,000. When I left I was the 3rd highest banking broker in the company history, having banked just under £1,250,000. My latest year’s bankings were £267,000. Over the 5 years, the company went through various recruitment drives where I have interviewed and help train new recruits. This would involve helping them with lenders, the sales process and ensuring they were keeping on track with all administration and targets.
