Having been in Pastoral Ministry for more than 25 years and in Christian Ministry for 35 years, we have learned to listen more clearly to His voice along the journey. My past 3 + yrs here at New Life Church in Duncan have been enjoyable and enriching. The Church now has two new Pastors in place. I enjoyed my last six months of 2015 in the half-time position called Pastor of Congregational Care....which suited my gifts and my semi-retirement plans just fine. It's interesting how God called us back to Vancouver Island after going up to the Okanagan in 2010. We were called to take on a new role as a Transitional Pastoral couple back to our former church in Duncan BC (New Life Community Baptist) - effective Aug 4, 2013. (3 1/2 years after we left.) This was a surprise, yet not a surprise. He has equipped us for such a time as this and we look forward to the challenge. In our last Church, we were ministering at Grace Bible Church in Vernon, BC for 3 1/2 years. It was an amazing stage in our ministry career and we counted it a privilege to be able to be used by God in so many ways while there. We always marvel at how He uses us and uses everything He taught us to use at just the right time. Thank you Vernon, for loving and accepting us. I feel the major role I played there was to gather the people of God together and allow the two church families become ONE. It was hard work and when Colleen & I arrived, we were able to use our gifts of administration and Pastoral care to help the team. Upon leaving, the church voted to affiliate with the Evangelical Free Church of Canada. Since then, they are planning to go into a building expansion in the near future.New Life Church has gone through a lot of changes in the past number of years and we have been blessed to be part of His local Church. We now enjoy the freedom to travel and visit family and our seven grandchildren across this Nation - from Halifax to Vancouver. We are happy, healthy and look forward to continue to serve the Lord wherever we are most needed.
