I am currently General Counsel of the Nebraska Public Service Commission, where I oversee a team of five lawyers and support staff to support the PSC’s regulatory work, including telecommunications, transportation, railroads, and gas, among other areas. For five years I served as the Director of the Department of Health and Human Services' Office of Procurement and Grants. In that role, I oversaw all procurement and grant functions of the agency, including service contracts, commodity purchases, information technology, and grant agreements.As a lawyer, I've handled litigation and legal matters in a variety of areas of the law, including contracts, consumer protection, deceptive trade practices, antitrust, administrative law, civil rights, housing discrimination, and agency legal advice. I've appeared before the state and federal district courts in Nebraska, state and federal trials, and won more than a dozen appeals before the Nebraska Court of Appeals and Nebraska Supreme Court.Reported cases:• Penry v.
