Reece is Australia's leading Bathroom and Plumbing Merchant with in excess of 400 branches throughout Australia and New ZealandMy role was responsible for creating and establishing the "Buying Department" and implementing effective category management and supplier management procedures for Reece Australia Ltd.

The Discount Variety Group was Australia's largest "Bargain Store" retailer with over 500 stores throughout the country.This was an interim role to lead the business during the pending sale of the organisation. During this period significant improvements were made, both financially and operationally which ultimately resulted in a successful trade sale of the business.

Bilo was part of Coles Myer Ltd and consisted of 210 Supermarkets throughout Australia.I was responsible for leading the Merchandise and Buying function for the Bilo Supermarket business. This role encompassed all departments including: Grocery, FMCG, General Merchandise, Meat, Fresh Produce, Bakery, Deli / Dairy and Frozen. Key accountabilities included:- Range development, architecture and management- Product soucing - both local and international- Private label - strategy, development and sourcing- Pricing - strategy, competitive positioning and maintenance- Promotions - planning, negotiation and implementation- Space Management - planograms, stockturns, GMROI- Supplier Management - selection, negotiation and performance

Coles Myer Ltd was Australia's leading retailer with over 2000 stores nationally and representation in Supermarkets, Liquor Stores, Department Stores, Discount Department Stores, Office Supplies and Automotive Repairs. However, at this time CML did not have an offer in the "Fuel & Convenience Market"My role was to clearly define CML's "Fuel & Convenience" strategy, develop the entry options and to negotiate / implement our entry into the market. I was the commercial lead in the transaction that ultimately resulted in CML's acquisition of the operating rights for Shell Retail Network in Australia (consisting of 660 sites) and the creation of "Coles Express"

Coles Supermarket’s primary business was the operation of approximately 600 supermarkets nationally with annual sales of $16 billion. In addition to supermarkets, Coles also operated a number of specialty business units that had either been acquired or developed internally. These included: Pick‘N Pay Hypermarkets, Fast & Fresh Fuel and Convenience, Let's Eat Gourmet Food and Essentially Me Health & Beauty stores.My role was responsible for managing, improving and evaluating the viability of these specialty businesses and transitioning them into ongoing, profitable entities or exiting the brands that would not add long-term shareholder value.
