Started as Tier III network support engineer. This consisted of managing network change requests and troubleshooting tickets and producing relative documentation upon resolution. Change-Request tickets could involve anything from switch/router L2 or L3 changes to new switch configurations. Change-Requests also included addition and removal of DNS entries. December 2013 moved to Senior Engineer position and attached to Data Center Migration project. Project duties included:Was solely responsible for Data Canter Nexus Fabric networking infrastructure and any add/moves/changes as well as trouble shooting any issues that arose. -Configured Nexus 7000/5000/2000 in Top of Rack & End of Row Architecture in a spine and leaf design for a Scale-able Production Network that supports Rack & Blade server architecture using vPC+, VDC & VRF-Configured and maintained 20 gig OTV/VDC between old DC and new DC used for migration and visualization. -Worked with SAN/Storage team to set up and configure Cisco SAN fabric directors MDS 9501’s and MDS 9140’s SAN edge switches to communicate across OTV for data migration and replication. -Involved with set up and configuration of new Fabric Interconnect 6248’s, IOM 2208, and HP VC FLEX-10 -Responsible for all end of row and top of rack port/VLAN configurations for all new and migrating devices as well as all OOB network connections. -Charged with documenting and maintain all switch/port/VLAN/VDC configurations as network was built out. January 2016 after successfully competing company’s 12-month Data Center migration was then moved to the Secure Truck Network project. Project involved complete redesign and network hardware refresh of all North and South American facilities and plants. Responsible for design verification of all site designs.Set up and configure all new equipment involved (Cisco 4500 (VSS), 3850’s and 2960XR’s). Core MDF switches, IDF access switches as well as WAN and MAN connectivity.

University of Western StatesSenior Network Engineer June 202 – PresentWas contracted to untangle the current campus LAN, WAN, and wireless networks. This involved reviewing network traffic flow, all hardware configurations, and network security rules and policies. Once completing a full top down network documentation, I was then responsible for redesigning the entire network, which included replacing all access switches, firewalls, Iscsi switches, and entire wireless system. This required writing new configurations for all network equipment as well as assigning new IP subnets to all new and existing equipment. All with 95% up time for all systems. This was a complete network rebuild. Equipment involved was Cisco ASA’s, Cisco 2911’s, Enterasys L3 access switches. Enterasys wireless controllers and AP’s, Brocade SX 1600, Brocade ICX access switches, and Fortigate firewalls, as well as several other software and web applications.  Deconstructed on paper and drawings entire network including five remote sites. Cleaned up all current network hardware configurations.  Wrote new configs and configured all new hardware as well as reconfiguring Core switch.  Replaced 50 Enterasys access switches with new Brocade ICX 6450’s Setup and configured new Brocade Mobility RFS6000 HA wireless solution.  Condensed three Cisco ASA’s in to a single HA Fortinet 300c configuration. Replaced all remote site ASA’s with new Fortinet 60c’s as well as installing new wireless systems.  Worked with the fallowing protocols; OSPF, BGP, STP, 802.1w, 802.1x, RADIUS, MPLS, IPVPN In short, I was tasked with deconstructing and documenting the entire network, and then do a deep cleanup of all devices removing loops, unused routes and policies. Then do a complete redesign and transition plan. Implementing that plan with all new equipment all with minimum down time.

Direct TV Data Center Migration Team.) Working in the on the consolidation of multiple Data Centers to a new central Center. Coordinating with Direct TV, and various server and infrastructure groups for the migration of current equipment and replacing older technology. Adhering to tight procedural protocols, and RFC's. We are currently consolidating 3 older Data Centers that house all Direct TV's billing system infrastructure, to a new state of the art facility. This involves a complete network design overhaul and redesign. All moves, adds, and changes must be documented and a constant communication stream with all parties must be updated daily. * Hold daily meetings to discuss and concerns of scheduled moves. * Configure rental equipment to mirror equipment being moved to new location.* If replacing old Cisco equipment with new, rewrite old config to work with new equipment.* Configure ports, and move ports to appropriate VLANS. Verify STP and ports are working properly.* Update daily all drawings and proper forms.* Redesign of core, aggregate, and access networking equipment. * Technology currently working with on a day-to-day basis.
