Senior Network Engineer
CurrentStarted as Tier III network support engineer. This consisted of managing network change requests and troubleshooting tickets and producing relative documentation upon resolution. Change-Request tickets could involve anything from switch/router L2 or L3 changes to new switch configurations. Change-Requests also included addition and removal of DNS entries. December 2013 moved to Senior Engineer position and attached to Data Center Migration project. Project duties included:Was solely responsible for Data Canter Nexus Fabric networking infrastructure and any add/moves/changes as well as trouble shooting any issues that arose. -Configured Nexus 7000/5000/2000 in Top of Rack & End of Row Architecture in a spine and leaf design for a Scale-able Production Network that supports Rack & Blade server architecture using vPC+, VDC & VRF-Configured and maintained 20 gig OTV/VDC between old DC and new DC used for migration and visualization. -Worked with SAN/Storage team to set up and configure Cisco SAN fabric directors MDS 9501’s and MDS 9140’s SAN edge switches to communicate across OTV for data migration and replication. -Involved with set up and configuration of new Fabric Interconnect 6248’s, IOM 2208, and HP VC FLEX-10 -Responsible for all end of row and top of rack port/VLAN configurations for all new and migrating devices as well as all OOB network connections. -Charged with documenting and maintain all switch/port/VLAN/VDC configurations as network was built out. January 2016 after successfully competing company’s 12-month Data Center migration was then moved to the Secure Truck Network project. Project involved complete redesign and network hardware refresh of all North and South American facilities and plants. Responsible for design verification of all site designs.Set up and configure all new equipment involved (Cisco 4500 (VSS), 3850’s and 2960XR’s). Core MDF switches, IDF access switches as well as WAN and MAN connectivity.
