I have been in the printing industry since 1983 at 20 years old. (I am telling my age).I started out at EBSCO Media making bluelines and color keys. Eventually moved up to conventional stripping and became a journeyman stripper. After 5 years at EBSCO working 2nd and 3rd shift, i was offered a 1st shift position at Precision Color where i worked for about two years and then went to Craftsman where i worked as a journeyman stripper. Then of course the industry started to change dramatically and at a rapid pace going from camera, artboards, film, and plates to computer to plate and eventually to the digital press. I was fortunate enough to grow and change with it and i am still amazed when i think of how far it has come and excited to think where it is still going. I went on to work at Craftsman for 5 years, spent a short time with American Printing, Vulcan Publications and then went back home (i guess you could say) to EBSCO Media where i have been for the last 18 years. My Father was a pressman/supervisor at EBSCO for 45 years. So i guess you could say "it's in my genes!Ebsco Media was sold in 2015 and I did not chose to go with the new company.I then went to work with Just Rite Printng, a small family owned shop in Fultondale, AL.Then in July of 2020 I got an offer I just couldn’t refuse to go to work McGriff (formerly McGriff Seibels Williams) as a Print Production Specialist. I hope this is my final stop and that I will be able to retire when the time comes.God has been very good to me!
