Dr Greg Whitfield has over 15 years’ experience in the academic, public and private sectors. He is a highly experienced geomorphologist and Chartered Water and Environmental Manager (C.WEM), who has worked on a wide range of river management situations in different environments. Greg’s main specialism lies in geomorphological assessment to identify sustainable solutions for the management of infrastructure assets in the power, water and transport sectors. He has authored reports on weir removals, sediment management, river restoration, and asset resilience in respect of risks from erosion and flooding. Greg is also highly experienced in Water Framework Directive Assessments and surface water Environmental Impact Assessments, and has worked on several Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects from Scoping through to Examination.Taking positive action and protecting assets and investments in light of geomorphological change reduces the need for excessive and additional capital and operational expenditure.
