RIG Logistics was a division of the New Way Group of companies until it separated in 2015 under separate ownership. From 2007 to 2015 I was employed as a long haul truck driver with LCV, doing a dedicated run to Whitehorse, Yukon Territory for three years as well as dedicated runs through the West Kootenays, Vancouver BC and on the open board to Yellowknife NWT, Northern BC, AB, SK, MB and some USA before moving into the Safety and Compliance department where I still take the occasional trip to let the drivers see Safety and Compliance on the road. In the Safety Department, my role included Road testing new applicants, Driver Orientation for Safety Classes, Company Policies, Customer Policies, TDG, WHMIS, providing remedial training, Driver monitoring, creating Incident Reports, Investigating Incidents and Accidents to completion, working with Clients Safety Departments, Disputing claims, disciplinary actions to drivers, working as a part of the entire Safety Team as well as implementing, and sometimes creating programs to add to the Orientation process. With the expansion of the Company, the Safety Department has grown and some duties have been shared out with the focus of my tasks being more on Driver Training, Orientation, Driver Evaluations and specific client claims.
