I specialise and enjoy working on Design & Build projects using my knowledge of the vast product range available on the market, innovation excites me and design is the key factor in winning projects, so I am continuously researching and updating my product knowledge that is never ending. Thinking outside the box and applying a good design has won me a number of projects.As part of my role as Senior Pre-Contracts Manager, I stay in contact with my network of clients and always look to develop new client relationships. Whatever the client’s requirements I can work on a large range of projects covering all aspects of the electrical package which has lead me to working with a number of Bluechip clients in the UK. Once I have the client’s requirements, I will put together the electrical design for mains LV distribution, Small power, Lighting & emergency lighting design using Relux design software, lighting control systems and switching philosophy, Fire alarm design, Data infrastructure including comms rooms and data centres, UPS & Generator design, CCTV, Door entry systems, security systems, containment and liaising with the mechanical contractor to get their power requirements and coordinating with the whole design & project team to eliminate any clashes, pointing out any areas of concern and suggesting different alternatives to achieve the right outcome. Either during or after this process I will put together a competitive quotation, giving a breakdown of each electrical section and working to turn round quotations from a few hours to a week later (dependent upon incumbent contractors).All of the design work I do is in line with all the applicable British Standards and building control requirements, which is another area of continuous learning and staying up to date for each electrical discipline. Working closely with the cad department, all of my designs come to life and give the client a clear idea of what it will look like and give a feel for the space.
