Alston is responsible for the development and deliveryof an enterprise-wide Mission Assurance vision,strategy and process to increase collaboration acrossinternal and external stakeholder communities, as wellas for internal training and development activities. He isa member of the Engineering and Technology Council,the Operations Council and the Performance ExcellenceCouncil. He also acts as an external contact for theMission Assurance organization.Prior to joining Raytheon in June 2007, Alston spentmore than 30 years with the U.S. Air Force, rising to therank of colonel. Most recently he was a member of theSenior Executive Service as the deputy chief of Safety,and the executive director of the Air Force Safety Center.He was a command pilot with more than 2,000 flyinghours in the F-4, F-16, AT-38 and F-117A. Alston servedas commander, 49th Operations Support Squadronduring Operation Desert Strike.Alston is a published author on the topics of safety,aviation, leadership and risk management. He is amember of the Advisory Council to the center ofAerospace Safety and Security Education (CASE), a lifemember of the Space and Flight Equipment Association(SAFE), and a member of the International Society ofAir Safety Investigation (ISASI).Alston received a bachelor’s degree in aviationmanagement from Metropolitan State College of Denverand a master’s degree in aviation management fromEmbry-Riddle Aeronautical University. He recently received a PhD in Business Administration from Northcentral University.
