Greg Aragon Email and Phone Number
Greg Aragon is a Systems Engineer at Space Dynamics Laboratory. Colleagues describe them as "To Whom It May Concern I am writing to recommend Greg Aragon. He and I worked together for nearly 20 years at General Dynamics Mission Systems. During that time, Greg and I worked both as peers and later he was the Software Development Lead on a program where I was the Chief Engineer. Greg held several roles on projects that I led over that time: Software Developer, Software Technical Lead, and as mentioned, Software Development Lead. In that latter role, Greg led a team of approximately 50 distributed developers. In each of those roles, Greg was always an effective communicator, efficient worker/developer, and conscientious lead. As a developer, Greg was able to complete difficult and complex assignments within schedule and budget. He could be counted on to request the most complicated tasks in an effort to continually grow and stretch his expertise. His development efforts were always thorough, well documented and exhaustively tested. As a Technical Lead, Greg was able to mentor and train his developers, helping them grow their skills and complete their assignments. He stayed well-versed in coding best practices and the evolving technical stack. This allowed him to provide expert technical guidance that kept the team and project on track for successful completion. In his role as the Software Development Lead, Greg had to manage a large, diverse team with a wide variety expertise. In this role, Greg started to hone his management and leadership skills which have prepared him for larger roles in managing software projects. As the Software Development Lead, Greg reported to me directly on the project which was utilizing Agile methodologies. This project was moving at an extremely aggressive pace and stretched Greg in new ways. It demanded improved communication mechanisms with leadership and the customer. It required frequent travel to maintain continuity with the East Coast development representatives. Greg was able to keep the team focused on increment goals and assist me in keeping the customer appraised of our status. He was able to effectively communicate issues and risks, as well as accomplishments. In all of his leadership roles, Greg demonstrated a very good "bedside" manner. His staff appreciated his efforts to assist and his communication style was pleasant and congenial, while still maintaining the chain of command. His interactions were always professional and encouraging, even when personnel were struggling or behind schedule. I have always placed a premium on efficiency, loyalty and dedication among members of my project teams. Greg was a shining example of these important traits. Although our careers have diverged, I would not hesitate at the chance to work with Greg again in the future. I enjoyed our relationship and we have remained in contact and friends despite the aforementioned divergence. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me via linkedin.com. James Dominguez", "I worked with Greg at AeroVironment for 8 years. Greg has an impressive background including software engineering, systems engineering and program management. He is able to operate effectively in teams that require individuals to wear multiple hats. Greg is a very capable software manager - he knows the tools and has the experience to know when software engineers are being too optimistic in their estimates. Greg is a good person and a friendly coworker. His style is collaborative and flexible. He is the guy that will figure out how to say "yes" to your difficult request, and he will bend over backwards to satisfy his customers. I recommend Greg wholeheartedly for any position involving software engineering, systems engineering or program management.", and "I have worked with Greg on different programs spanning approximately a decade. Greg brings character, enthusiasm, and possesses a broad skill set. He has worked on web server back-end and front-end systems, performed System Engineering Tasks such as requirements development and tracing from JAMA to JIRA, as well as handling Scrum Master and software mentoring duties with aplomb. He's not afraid to get his hands dirty either. Fundamentally, he will do what it takes to help a team achieve success. I'm confident he will be viewed as an asset in a multitude of assignments."
