    We founded Leadership+Design to make schools and school leadership more creative, human, and joyful. Since then, we've grown into an established nonprofit, with eight salaried partners and several adjunct collaborators, that has worked with hundreds of schools across the country.As a Partner, I design and lead strategic planning, identity development (e.g. mission and vision, Portraits of a Graduate, and inclusion statements), leadership development programs, and new academic initiatives for a wide range of schools, with a particular focus on building the cultural muscle to enact positive change.

Led successful fundraising for an Art Studio, IDEAS Kitchen (maker space), gym remodel, on-campus science lab, Mobile Science Lab, and faculty workspaces.• Developed 10-year financial model to guide strategic thinking on tuition, salaries, financial aid, and options for campus acquisition. Grew cash reserves by 400%. Tuition increases were held to 3-3.5%. Exceeded the budgeted surplus every year.• Created salary scale moving salaries to the 75th percentile of peer schools or above. Increased IRA match from 3% to 5%. • Tripled the number of arts courses, including new electives in drama, filmmaking, design, dance, and music. • Improved math instruction by staffing all math sections with full-time teachers (previously only 37% of math sections staffed FT); added 10 contact days.• Facilitated a yearlong design thinking initiative that led to a new grading scale and transcript.• Reoriented May Term as a signature program offering global immersion for every HS student, with new program sites in Peru, Cambodia, Iceland, and China.• Launched partnerships with Boulder businesses that led to new programs, such as Startup Weekend Boulder Youth and an “Entrepreneurship+Design” course held at a startup incubator.• Improved focus on social-emotional health through emphasis on character education, community programming, new parent education series, and new Director of Social-Emotional Learning.• Created Traverse, an annual education conference attracting a national audience. • Led 3-year ACIS accreditation process and achieved accreditation for the first time in the school's history.
