Responsibilities and successes include:• Earning a Gold ‘School Games Mark’ Award (Government led awards scheme) for the Department – achieved within two years, it was Bronze when I arrived.• Increased Rochdale’s extra-curricular participation levels in high schools by implementing strategies to promote inclusion and higher student involvement, rather than schools simply playing to win.• Modernised a Department to bring a clear purpose and vision; this promoted outstanding outcomes for learners and raised standards. • Introduced a ‘Department Development Plan’ to secure continuous improvement and quality outcomes for all students.• Implemented a quality tracking and monitoring system; this allowed students to achieved short term success by reaching goals which, in turn, raised motivation levels.• Providing clear, cohesive leadership and direction in the Department to motivate teaching and support staff to develop innovative strategies to enhance the quality of learning, teaching and achievement.• Raised £1200 for Sport Relief though an action packed charity sports day; a very proud achievement with only 120 student on roll.

Responsibilities and successes included:• Hired as the first ever English Subject Leader in Physical Education at Milan’s most prestigious private Italian educational institution. • Raised success levels within the subject of Physical Education; I put into effect my own, personal physical education curricula and assessment methods – such as iPad sports analysis units, which increased a learner’s capacity to succeed.• Increased student’s content language in non-intercultural sections of the San Carlo high school through self-designed ‘Sports Science’ modules. • Improved the health, fitness and gym based knowledge of students; I acted as a mentor to students in unique lessons in the fitness centre to improve competence in the gym and develop them into personal trainers.• Organised annual events - such as cross country, swimming and skiing - for numbers in excess of 200.

Responsibilities and successes included:• Providing English commentary for a world-feed broadcast on Serie A/Serie B/Coppa Italia and World Cup Qualifiers.• Created a personal, professional website - www.gbcommentary.com (website now deactivated; videos found at the GB Commentary YouTube channel - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOFqnGBD7P8yJu8vBh6ZwnA).• Created ‘CCPD’ - Commentators Continued Professional Development; a bi-weekly think-share group which incorporated discussion and allowed colleagues to share resources.• Researching football players, football clubs, statistics and current issues within the footballing world to provide an in depth, informative and entertaining commentary.• Delivering a clear, concise and professional broadcast to worldwide viewers ranging from America to Nigeria, on media services such as television and the internet (Bet365/Betfair).• Analysing commentaries of other professionals to improve my own communicative ability.
