For nearly 30 years, Greg has provided legislative and public relations counsel to candidates, elected officials, state officials, business executives and community leaders.In November 2019, Greg was named Managing Director of Legislative and External Affairs for the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.Prior to that, Governor Gretchen Whitmer named Greg Bird as her Director of Legislative Affairs. He also served as Director of State Relations for Wayne State University; and Press Secretary to the Speaker of the House and the House Democratic Caucus. In 2003, Greg was appointed Director of Communications for Governor Jennifer Granholm’s Office of the State Budget. Before that, he worked in the Attorney General’s office and in the Michigan Senate. Greg is a 1997 graduate of Michigan State University’s James Madison College. He and his wife Trisha have one son and live in the Lansing area.Specialties: Legislative affairs and public relations
