Like Johnny Cash, I've been everywhere. Unlike Johnny Cash, I've never shot a man in Reno just to watch him die. Seriously, I've never even been to Reno. Over the years—so many years now—I've worked for a wide variety of companies including start-ups, digital design and production studios, public relations firms, and traditional ad agencies. I've held creative leadership roles for both Canadian and global clients at unplugged, Organic, Teehan+Lax, Juniper Park, Leo Burnett, Edelman, Jam3, Cossette, and Juliet. Clients have included Facebook, Google, McDonald’s, Nike, Quaker, Levis, Jeep, Dodge, Molson, Sprint, Telus, and Procter & Gamble.After a 2-year stint at Juliet, working (mostly) with the amazing folks at Mailchimp, I’m now at Wealthsimple working as Senior Manager, Copywriting. I’m really excited to have joined a company that, in my opinion, creates some of the best marketing in the world. My work has won at Cannes, SXSW, the LIAs, One Show Interactive, W3, Marketing Awards. I even played a part in winning a Pulitzer. (It's a long story and I had a small role, but c'mon, you think I wasn't going to include it?) Outside the agency world, I've had my writing published in the Globe and Mail, cbc.ca, Motion Magazine, Canada's 100 Best and other publications. For a few years, back when "web portals" had budgets, I had a regular column on MSN/Sympatico. I also had a side hustle doing marketing for a wine importer, for which I was paid in wine. As a result, I still keep a decent little cellar. So go ahead and check that box marked "entrepreneurial".When I'm not at my desk, I like to dream of my next trip, cook, drink wine, hang with my family, listen to (and play) music, renovate my one-room schoolhouse, garden, and work on my stand-up.
