In the South Carolina branch of Organizing for America, the grassroots wing of the 2012 Barack Obama Re-Election Campaign, each county had a few Summer Organizing Fellows leading operations. I was the sole Fellow over all volunteers in Horry County, SC. In this position, I organized, led, and participated in county-wide phone banks twice per week to recruit volunteers for the organization. I also organized, led, and participated in voter registration drives weekly. I trained more than 70 volunteers to organize and lead their own phone banks and voter registration drives, as well to to perform data entry based on the results of these events in the voter database Votebuilder. Over the course of this internship I performed data entry in Votebuilder of more than 15,000 voter registration and phone bank records.
