Being a first-generation college student, I used to face obstacles throughout school and what career I wanted to go for. During my time in the workforce and volunteering, I have utilized my devotion to helping other people. As someone who has volunteered with both the Foodbank of Santa Barbara County as well as the Red Cross to working in organizing and setting up community events for the city of Santa Maria, CA, I have learned that I can excel in serving my community by helping others.Throughout my life, I have always enjoyed helping those in need but to utilize that passion into my career is something that I feel I would excel at. Something else I feel strong about is problem-solving, which is something I demonstrate in my everyday life tasks as well. As a Cal Poly student majoring in business administration with a concentration in accounting, I intend to find a career as a budget analyst or a financial analyst. By doing so, I would be utilizing my devotion to helping my community by managing their financial goals.
