Increased the station’s share of national sales, 18% to 35%, In 1994, MSP purchased WVIC-AM/FM, the market’s CHR station. Changed the format to alternative rock, creating the BUZZ, a brand that would be used by over 300 radio stations across the United States. Within six months, the station became number one in its target demographic, 18-34, and number 2 overall behind the co-owned WITL.
