The Flagship "Pyengana 10-12 months old was distributed as "Pyengana Dairy's Farm House Cheddar" by the Calendar Cheese Company. The enterprise also produced a range of mild and flavour infused cheeses under the Blue Tier name via internal distribution channels.Along with producing cheeses Pyengana bottled it's award winning pasteurized non-homogenized Real Milk and Real Skinny Milk. The milk products were distributed throughout Tasmania via internally developed and maintained distribution channels. PD's award winning Real Ice Cream was at the time produced by the company. An embryonic project designed to demonstrate the use of quality milk products which was sold via the cafe and a small distribution network.Situated on the property the "Holy Cow! Cafe", a cafe / gift shop / tasting counter provided a significant local tourist attraction. On my initiative 2015 saw the Festival of Voices expanded to include Pyengana Dairy, an event that received great reviews from both artists and attendees.All production, cellars, packaging, distribution and cafe facilities were operated on site. The PD team are Prolific Award winners - Most notable awards during my time included; Australian Specialist Cheese Makers' Cup Champion Cheese 2012Australian Grand Dairy Winners of the Best Cheddar 2013Australian Grand Dairy Awards winner Best Cheddar 2014Australian Delicious Produce Award Winner 2014Australian Delicious Produce Award Winner 2015Australian Delicious Producer of the Year 2015It was a professionally and ethically challenging position. Operations ManagerSg Marketing Pty Ltd 2000 - 2009Biboohra Queensland AustraliaSG Marketing Pty Ltd operated an award winning poultry facility producing in excess of 550,000 chickens per annum. The farm comprised three open architecture cool-pad ventilated sheds with a holding capacity of 28-32,000 birds per shed. The facility was situated in the semi-remote Biboohra region of the Atherton Tableland region of Far North Queensland Australia. At the commencement of my tenure the farm was a very poor performer due to the extremely run down nature of the facilities. After one year of extensive upgrades and "learning the trade" the enterprise received a number of awards for best feed to live meat weight conversions. The poultry growing side of the enterprise attained number one chicken grower in the Barter Enterprise Northern Division many times throughout my involvement with the enterprise.The venture included a commercial small scale mango (Kensington Pride) orchard which at the time of occupation had been abandoned which was returned to commercial productive capacity within the first three years.During my tenure I developed an experimental Droughtmaster stud. This side endeavour allowed me to pursue my interest in genetics and holistic sustainable farming techniques. The Stud successfully produced quality breeding animals to enhance the breeding capacity and meat quality of local herds. When Steggles / Bartter Enterprises indicated a desire for the farm to double its capacity and with the impending sale of Steggles the farm was offered for sale ending my tenure as the site's Operations Manager.Completely different to my theoretical and "white" collar pursuits until this time, the opportunity empowered me to expand my theoretical knowledge to the practical. The experience allowed me to gain extensive knowledge and cultural understanding of the needs, desires and challenges faced by regional agricultural businesses and reaffirmed my belief that we all can overcome almost anything with focus determination and persistence. -

The Gibson Group's premiere product was Enterprise Software. Developed internally Enterprise Software was at the time recognized as the largest range of industry specific and accounting software solutions in the world. Designed and developed in house and the products were internationally distributed via internally developed distribution channels. Led by Greg Gibson the initial designer and author of Enterprise Software the product went on to win many industry and business awards. Being Featured at CeBit and Comdex throughout the 1990's the product gained an enviable reputation for innovation and cost effectiveness.The Group included Probe Energy Management Systems primary focus was on the development, supply and installation of computer control mechanisms for large scale commercial contractors.In summary the Group was made up of 7 companies primarily focused on providing superior software and hardware solution for the Australasian / SE Asian markets. In addition the group included in-house Easypay finance, property development and robotic / control processing ventures. I thoroughly enjoyed the entrepreneurial endeavours, the extensive domestic and international travel and the many lessons learnt in building development, distribution, sales and support teams throughout the world. The key lesson learnt was that a business is not four walls and machinery, it is the team that you build and the intellectual property of that team that will drive and maintain the team. After the passing of my son I sold my business interests in order to spend time with direct family.

The position reported directly to the Company Secritary and as require to other Senior Company Management.The position was responsible for all non-production staff staff recruitment, training and management tasks including work place safety and all Divisional Human Resource management tasks. Such tasks included union negotiations and dispute resolution. The position included Operational Management duties including direct production supervision and production target derivation, establishing and reporting.The position offered me the opportunity to round off my senior corporate accounting and reporting credentials and proved a valuable learning opportunity in team building and team motivation.I left the position having achieved a number of infrastructural system modifications well ahead of schedule and within budgetary guidelines. The position was left in order to establish my own enterprise.
