Greg is the Managing Director of Intellect IO. The company uses platform dynamics to drive new business growth. Through the use of business led innovation and AI solutions the company is able to deliver services to leverage the network effects within platforms.Previously Greg was CIO at Metrofile where he was responsible for IT strategy, governance, policies and operations across the Metrofile group of companies. This included the management of IT infrastructure and services across the 5 South African group companies and companies across Africa.At the same time, Greg was the General Manager of Global Continuity (part of Metrofile) which offers world class business continuity facilities and consulting services in Southern Africa. Global Continuity provides backup management services for client data protection and this reduces the time to recover business operations. In 2015, one of Global Continuity's clients won the Africa and Global BCI award for the most effective recovery. Previously, Greg was the Senior Manager responsible for Deloitte Digital, which offers various internet, social media and mobile solutions to the South African market. This includes the development of digital strategies with the design of operating models and governance structures for specific businesses. As part of Deloitte’s Innovation initiative (Deloitte of Tomorrow) Greg was responsible for commercialising new ventures for Deloitte South Africa. Greg holds a degree in Electrical Engineering (UCT) and an MBA from GIBS, where he wrote his thesis on the adoption of e-commerce within South Africa.Prior to Deloitte, Greg managed the Manufacturing Systems Department at Chamdor Brewery, which provided the majority of new product development for South African Breweries. This required a balance of strong technical operations and management with flexible innovation delivery.
