Our product, 2FA ONE, integrated authentication, password management, and credential management into a single solution. Founded in 2006, 2FA became a pioneer in various authentication technology; such as, RFID and push-authentication. 2FA offered a subscription-based software solution to over 1,000 distinct customers in various industries. In 2016, 2FA was acquired by Spotlight Equity Partners, following which I assisted in the transition to one of their portfolio companies for two-years.

I was hired as a senior security consultant then promoted to principal security consultant and practice manager over a period of several years. I achieved trusted advisor status and lead deployments of cybersecurity solutions at several of the largest global energy companies. I developed deep technical and operational experience in identity and access management solutions and held various advisory roles working with product management and service delivery to fine-tune products and delivery methodology. I provided oversight for a variety of authentication and single sign-on (SSO) product launches. I aided in the development and management of key channel partnerships that rounded out Schlumberger’s primary security offering. I was responsible for organizing the first working group that defined policy for federated identity management within oil and gas. I was routinely selected to present at many industry and global security conferences, such as, RSA Security Conference, Burton/Gartner Catalyst, and The API Security Forum.

I entered active duty at 17 years old as a Private (E1). I was first deployed to Germany in 1990, where I joined the 3d Infantry Division on their deployment to Operation Desert Storm, commonly known as The Gulf War. I served in various operational roles in Southwest Asia during operations: Desert Storm, Desert, Shield, and Provide Comfort and throughout Africa. Following my return to Germany, I was assigned to the United Nations’ mission providing humanitarian support to Bosnian refugees. I was later deployed to Bosnia in support of NATO’s IFOR operations where I was assigned to lead legal operations in theater. Upon my return from Bosnia I was assigned to the 160th SOAR(A), United State Army Special Operations Command, where I was promoted to Sergeant First Class (E7) and later commissioned as a Warrant Officer. As a Warrant Officer in the 160th SOAR(A) and later in Italy at USASETAF, I achieved Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MSCE) and various other technical certifications. It was then that I became involved with smart cards and other authentication technologies. During my last two years on active duty, I worked closely with the JAG Corps on various secure email and authentication projects.
