Quality Manager role responsible for team of six quality inspectors and plant wide quality control, processes and improvements reporting to the plant operations manager (indirectly to the Director of Quality). Responsibilities Included:• Provide feedback/guidance to Engineering on new products and current products and field issues. • Prepare quality documents and reports by collecting and analyzing data/information.• Initiated root cause and corrective actions, evaluated failed processes, and disposition customer returns. • Evaluated procedures and practices for accomplishing department objectives; while developing and implementing improvements.• Conduct manufacturing and quality systems reviews.• Coordinate engineering and manufacturing/operations efforts to ensure design and customer requirements are met.• Supported manufacturing and quality project planning and scheduling of new/current products.• Supported company quality performance rating process (FTQ) to continually improve customer satisfaction.• Control and disposition non-conforming material.

My responsibilities include leading the manufacturing engineering group, overseeing offshore contract manufacturers, identifying new manufacturers, developing new technology, enhancing processes (eliminating non value added efforts), identifying and implementing cost reductions (in excess of $700K per year), identify new materials for products and managing the document control process. Responsible for identifying product performance improvements, supporting new product implementation, quality, incoming receiving inspection, ongoing reliability testing and engineering support. I was responsible for Global Quality for the organization and all of its products. I recently moved the organization from a 100% inspection process at the Ventura facility to a 100% Audit Control Plan Based process at the offshore suppliers to decrease lead times, reduce shipping costs, reduce rework costs and allow direct shipments to customers. Took the organization from ISO 9001:2008 to ISO 9001:2015 certification in May of this year. Recently I was also in charge of facilities management and operations at our Ventura California facility. A recent company reorganization and reduction in force (approximately 20%) eliminated my position as well as a number of positions I was responsible for.

Lead efforts in sourcing and developing overseas suppliers, developing and transitioning products overseas, implementing acceptance test procedures, in line process checks as well working with manufacturing on implementing standard operating procedures and quality standards.
