Managed, planned, and organized the financial operations of Durham Regional Hospital, a 369 bed acute care facility generating over $200 MM in operating revenue. Responsibilites included financial planning, budgeting and analysis, controllership, health information management, and revenue cycle functions. Advised and collaborated with management and Board of Directors on all aspects that financially impacted the hospital's operations.Accomplishments included:Led initiatives in purchasing and utilization of drugs and supplies that resulted in maintenance or reduction in supply and drug costs over three consecutive years. Negotiated clinical services agreements with faculty and community providers for provision of intensivist coverage in the ICU, provision of anesthesia services subsequent to merger of faculty and community anesthesia providers, neonatology coverage, and several emergency department call arrangements.Provided detail financial planning for several major clinical initiatives: including expansion of regionally leading program in bariatric surgery, development of minimally invasive and robotic surgery programs, development of new orthopedic practice, major renovations of intensive care unit and inpatient room refit, and computerized provider order entry. Provided financial support to Health System renegotiation of facility lease with Durham County.

Responsible for providing Health System entity support for use of Eclipsys TSI decision support system in production of annual operating budgets, flexible budgets, productivity monitoring, and cost accounting.
