I am extremely excited to launch The Engineering Collective, a professional engineering consultancy established to provide specialist structural design, assessment and advice for building projects. After more than two decades of engineering leadership in other organizations, I’ve setup The Engineering Collective (TEC) to provide a platform to follow my passion to add value to my client’s and their building projects directly.The company name reflects the collaborative approach that TEC will promote to provide the best solution and outcome for each project. We’ll collaborate with our clients and their wider project team to deliver successful projects that realise the Client’s vision. This includes collaborating with other structural engineers who have specialist expertise or capacity to enhance TEC’s service offering. TEC is keen to collaborate, and is already, with suppliers of new, innovative and modular structural solutions to add value to appropriate projects. I’m excited to bring my experience and strength in communicating complex structural issues effectively and clearly with clients, other stakeholders and consultants ensuring that the project’s structural engineering delivery is well managed reducing risk and removing uncertainty.I’ve gained experience as an independent engineering expert witness for projects with failures and disputes. This includes forensic engineering to determine the cause for failures and issues that have led to a dispute. Thanks to my experience across a wide range of building market sectors and structural systems, TEC has the ability to get involved in most building projects. However, TEC will initially focus on structural assessment and design services for low to medium rise residential and commercial buildings.
