Led significant projects, which required interaction with all functional departments, as well as preparation and presentation of financial matters and scenarios to both internal and external stakeholders. Structured a complex finance transaction, including developing financial model, analyzing Canadian/US tax and accounting implications, which significantly lowered Hyundai’s effective Canadian tax rate. Established and controlled a captive insurance company, which resulted in significant cost savings and allowed Hyundai more flexibility in their extended warranty programs. Negotiated a multi-million dollar refund from provincial and federal tax re-assessment audit and initiated commodity tax review to recapture incorrect tax payments - recovery of $0.5M and additional future savings
