A Chartered Civil Engineer and full member of the Institution of Civil Engineers, I am experienced in the design and management of a number of highway and infrastructure schemes in the UK and Ireland at a range of stages of development, from feasibility studies, through preliminary design and selection of Preferred Routes, to publishing draft Orders, preparation of Public Inquiry material, and full detailed design. I have also gained experience of site supervision and management of contracts for major highways works under ECC forms of contract.I am proficient in the use of AutoCAD and MX software for geometric design of highways schemes, with a good working knowledge of the UK and NRA Design Manuals for Roads and Bridges, the Manuals of Contract Documents for Highway/Road Works (MCHW/MCRW), and Manual for Streets and Manual for Streets 2. I hold current Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) health and safety certification.I am experiencd in road sign and marking design to TSRGD 2002, TSR(NI)97 and the NRA Traffic Signs Manual, and use of KeyLINE and KeySIGN. I use AutoTrack to develop swept path analyses, the Highways Agency’s RRRAP software (in conjunction with TD 19/06) to carry out safety barrier design, and various software packages in the assessment of junction capacity.
