The company decided to shut the department down because the industry did not truly understand the platform (or the use of said platform). I was offered the opportunity to the pre-press/desktop publishing department. In that department, I learned about all of the production printing processes and how to prepare files for print, how to proof jobs and how to prepare plates for printing.I left this job to begin work as a Designer at Mediabreaks, Inc.
