Key communications responsibilities include developing and implementing the OSA's communications plan in support of the OSA's mission and strategic and operational priorities; ensuring the quality and consistency of content and messaging across internal and external communications channels; serving as the primary point of contact for media inquiries, public inquiries, and open records requests; and providing direction and coordination on the OSA's report publication process and the creation of print and digital content and collateral. Key quality assurance responsibilities include serving as a primary resource on the interpretation and application of Government Auditing Standards; developing policies, procedures, and processes to ensure that auditing standards and other quality requirements are being met; monitoring staff compliance with independence and continuing professional education requirements; overseeing the annual internal review of the OSA's system of quality control; serving as the coordinator and liaison for the OSA's triennial external peer review; and participating on external peer reviews of other state audit organizations. Serve as a contract monitor on assigned performance audits and evaluations.

Supervised and directed a team of audit staff to complete independent performance audits of Colorado state government departments, agencies, and programs. Relied on comprehensive knowledge of government auditing standards, application of high-level analytic skills, and use of professional judgment to assess and evaluate program effectiveness, efficiency, internal controls, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Oversaw all phases of the audit and related work products, including: preparation of the audit scope, budget, and work plan; working papers; audit findings and recommendations; and the final written audit report. Responsibilities also included evaluating audit staff, maintaining communication with audited agencies, and monitoring audit work contracted out to private firms. Non-audit duties included assisting in the development and implementation of office-wide audit processes, administrative policies and procedures, work processes, strategic plan goals and objectives, and staff training plan.
