Initially as a response the the COVID-19 Pandemic, +BOX exists to provide that important third meal to those in need, free of charge, distributing healthy and nutritious meal kits side by side with the existing school lunch meal programs. Healthy and nutritious food kits, with ample ingredients for at least one square meal for a family of four is provided to those already in the school lunch line. Initially focused in three high-need areas of Southern California, +BOX kits are nutrient dense and curated with fresh & staple products that adhere to an internally developed standards model. We use the current local school delivery system to make our free boxed dinner available to families who rely on the school lunch program to thrive and grow. In our first trial at a single school site, we distributed 50 meal kits to needy families in just 20 minutes. That’s 400 total meals for people who need it. The remaining line of cars was over a mile long. By the end of 2022, +BOX will have distributed nearly 225 tons of fresh healthy food to those at risk food insecurities, equating to 375,000 free, healthy meals to families in need.

Charity Motorsports turned out to be a formidable experiment. I started this business to offer a different and unique buying experience for car enthusiasts interested in acquiring exotic and high-end cars, while donating 100% of our profits to charity. I found the business to be tougher than expected, and even after subsidizing the company, our charitable donations were far lower than necessary to keep the business going and the company was wound down in late 2019. I'll find another way to contribute to great causes in 2020, hopefully through another entrepreneurial, philanthropic venture.
