As a graduate of Leeds Metropolitan University, I gained my Post Graduate Diploma in 1997, joining Carey Jones Architects to work on refurbishment of the Baines Wing within the campus of The University of Leeds, completing my professional qualifications in 1999.Taking on ever increasing project and management responsibilities within the Practice I was invited onto the Main Board of Carey Jones Architects in June 2002, where I was jointly responsible for the management of a highly skilled design and delivery team of 30 staff, gaining a reputation for leading from the front whilst maintaining a hands on approach to the design and delivery of projects.In June 2008, I assumed the role of Group Managing Director, jointly responsible for both Carey Jones Architects and its subsidiary, Carey Jones Interiors.During my 13 years at Carey Jones Architects, I was instrumental in the design and delivery of several of the Practices largest mixed-use regeneration projects including Clarence Dock and The Gateway in Leeds - both of them award-winning schemes that have made significant contributions to the renaissance of the City. In addition to mixed-use regeneration schemes, I developed a specialism in the design and technical co-ordination of data centres.Before leaving in September 2010 to co-found Enjoy Design, I successfully led a team with Simons Developments to design and procure the new Council Offices, Town Library and Adult Education Centre for Dorchester Council.Since it's inception, Enjoy Design has been extremely succesful in securing a diverse workload across a number of sectors and continues to grow whilst steadfastly sticking to its core principles of providing a Director led service at all stages and most importantly, applying enthusiasm and creativity to every project.I have a strong belief in community involvement, from charitable fund-raising to taking up a role as Deputy Chair of Governors at a Ingram Road Primary School in Holbeck.
